Kerstin Stinson - SEDI Award Winner

Toronto, June 7, 20004 - Five Canadians, with remarkable stories of overcoming adversity to achieve success, have been named the recipients of the first annual SEDI Awards. Judged from nominations submitted from across the country, the five have been honoured.

The SEDI Awards celebrate the entrepreneurial spirit of individuals faced with adverse situations = the poor, the jobless, people with disabilities and people from damaging home environments - who, through SEDI's assistance and their own tenacity, have found lastin solutions to become independent and realize their full potential.

Saving for Success Award: Kerstin Stinson, Shelburne, Ont.

This Award recognizes Kerstin's success following her participation in SEDI's learnSave project. While single-handedly supporting four teenagers in an isolated rural environment, she started "Artistry in Flowers", a year round business in floral farming, event floral arrangements, unique dried floral artwork, garden landscaping consulting and dried floral design workshops.
